Understanding old people’s needs to shape an aged care strategy

An aged care provider running residential care, home care and retirement living wanted a clear picture of what older people need from its services – now and in the future – to inform its strategy.

Client
An aged care provider

Services
Residential care, home care and retirement living

Our role
Research synthesis, customer strategy and early concept design

Key Finding

One insight in a sentence or two – the thing that most changed how the client saw the problem.

What we did

Mimosa Partners worked closely with the provider's team to draw together customer research with residents, home care clients and retirement village residents, alongside academic research on ageing. This included:

  • Synthesising customer research into frameworks that showed where the opportunities were across all three services

  • A review of academic research on ageing

  • Early concepts to explore those opportunities

  • A three-phase approach to future delivery

What we found

The work gave the provider a shared, evidence-based view of older people's needs across residential care, home care and retirement living – and a practical, phased way to start acting on it.
